Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Tiguan, an all-electric SUV that will join the brand’s New Zealand line-up in 2027, offering buyers an electric alternative alongside the existing petrol-powered Tiguan range.
The new model marks another step in Volkswagen’s expanding electric vehicle line-up and builds on the success of the Tiguan, which remains the brand’s best-selling passenger vehicle in New Zealand.
Volkswagen New Zealand General Manager Chanelle McDonald says the introduction of the ID. Tiguan will give customers another way to experience the brand’s SUVs while embracing electric mobility.

The Tiguan nameplate has a strong global following, with more than 8.3 million vehicles produced worldwide, making it Volkswagen’s best-selling vehicle globally.
The ID. Tiguan will expand the company’s electric SUV offering while retaining the practicality and versatility associated with the existing model.
New Zealand specifications, pricing and further details will be announced closer to the vehicle’s planned arrival in 2027.
