Leapmotor New Zealand has expanded its presence in the electric SUV market with the B10, which has a special launch price of $42,990.

The B10 joins the Leapmotor C10 medium SUV as the relatively new Chinese brand expands globally.

Leapmotor is sold via Auto Distributors, with the B10 available via Armstrong’s dealerships around the country.

The Life has a range of 361km and Design is at 434km.

There are two variants available, the entry-level Life and the $47,990 Design. The stand price on both models is a $2000 increase, but Leapmotor plans to have the special available into early 2026.

The Life has a range of 361km and Design is at 434km, both are rear-wheel-drive and have outputs of 218 kW and 240Nm. Life’s battery capacity is 52.2kWh, while the Design is at 67.1kWh. Charging from 30% to 80% takes 18 minutes.

At the media launch today, Auto Distributor NZ’s general manager of sales, Brian Carr, said the B10 represented quality and affordability.

“It has been designed for the international market … and offers a driving experience for our lifestyle,” he said

The Leapmotor B10 has a modern exterior design.

“The rear-wheel drive B10 is an eye-catching vehicle which offers a host of premium features not normally seen at this price point and sets new standards for intelligent electric SUVs, offering advanced connectivity, a spacious interior and a dynamic exterior design,” said Carr.

“We believe this offers Kiwi motorists outstanding value for money, considering the high level of standard equipment, plus an unheralded array of outstanding features combining technology and versatility.”

These include Vehicle to Load (V2L) functionality, a 14.6-inch 2.5K pixel HD central floating touchscreen and an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree surround view camera, Over-The-Air updates, 17 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and up to 1,700 litres of luggage capacity with rear-seats folded.

The Leapmotor B10 is 4,515mm in length.

It has compact dimensions of 4,515mm in length, 1,885mm in width and 1,655mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,735mm.

While the B10 is made in China, its competitors are not only other Chinese brands - such as BYD, MG and Omoda - but other mainstream electric Compact SUVs from the likes of Kia and Nissan.

Leapmotor has rapidly emerged as one of the fastest-growing EV brands in the world.

In the first eight months of 2025, the brand delivered more than 320,000 vehicles globally and recently celebrated its one-millionth vehicle produced.

Its strong growth in China has been matched by a bold international expansion strategy, backed by a joint venture with Stellantis, which has seen Leapmotor enter over 30 global markets and establish more than 600 sales and service points abroad.
