BYD Auto New Zealand is extending its fleet to 10 with the launch of four new vehicles in the coming months.

The award-winning Atto 3 electric SUV and popular Shark 6 ute will be joined by the all-electric  Atto 1 and Atto 2, the plug-in hybrid Sealion 5 and Sealion 8, adding to BYD’s already diverse range, alongside the Sealion 6, Sealion 7, Dolphin and Seal.

Designed as a city-focused EV, the Atto 1 is a compact hatch but for those after something slightly larger, the Atto 2 is a compact SUV that blends everyday practicality with advanced battery technology.

The Atto 1 is a city-based electric compact car.

“The expanded Atto line-up is all about breaking down barriers to EV ownership,” said Warren  Willmot, General Manager of BYD Auto NZ.

“This vehicle will redefine what an entry-level EV can be in this market — affordable, efficient, and enjoyable to drive.

“We believe it will play a major role in helping more New Zealanders and businesses take their first step into electric mobility. We’re opening the door to a whole new generation of EV drivers”.

The Atto 2 is a compact SUV.

Meanwhile, the mid-sized SUV Sealion 5 is powered by BYD’s advanced dual-mode  intelligent (DM-i) technology

The seven-seater Sealion 8  will be BYD’s largest SUV in the New Zealand market.

“The Sealion 5 and Sealion 8 give customers even more choice in how they want to experience electrification,” Willmot added.

The Sealion 5 is a mid-sized SUV.

“Whether it’s an affordable commuter or a seven-seat family SUV,  BYD will have a solution to fit every stage of life. This is just the beginning of what we have planned  for New Zealand.”

Pricing, specification and arrival dates will be available next month and for more information, you can go here.
