Subaru New Zealand is evaluating the introduction of the all-new Uncharted electric SUV, which combines dual-motor all-wheel drive with a claimed driving range of up to 522km.

While local availability, pricing and specifications have yet to be confirmed, the Uncharted is being considered as part of the brand’s future product plans.

Overseas specifications show the battery electric SUV features Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, powered by two electric motors producing a combined 252kW.

Pricing and specifications have yet to be confirmed.

A 74.7kWh battery from CATL provides a targeted WLTP driving range of up to 522km, while DC fast charging is expected to take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 30 minutes.

Subaru says the Uncharted can accelerate from 0-100km/h in around five seconds and offers 211mm of ground clearance, maintaining the brand’s focus on capability across a variety of road conditions.

Practical features include vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing the vehicle’s battery to power external equipment through a 220V, 1500W outlet.

Subaru’s distributor, Inchcape New Zealand, says the Uncharted represents an exciting addition to Subaru’s growing global electrified line-up.

It offers 211mm of ground clearance.

Inchcape NZ’s general manager Paul Mallard says it is demonstrating the brand’s commitment to vehicles that combine capability, safety and everyday usability.

New Zealand customers will have an opportunity to see the Uncharted at the NZ EV & Tech Expo, being held at Auckland Showgrounds from November 13-15, 2026.

The Unchartered would join Solterra in Subaru’s EV lineup.
