Tesla has announced that it will begin production at its Fremont and New York factories by 4 May, “barring any significant changes”.

General workers will face a 10 per cent pay cut, whilst director pay will be cut 20 per cent. Vice Presidents and those above will lose 30 per cent of their salary.

The pay cut is expected to last until end of June and is in lieu of having to lay off workers.
