There’s never a right time for a car accident, but New Zealand company Star Insure has just made the aftermath easier to navigate.
The specialist motor insurer launched an accident app, acting as a real-time "pocket safety net" that is completely free for all Kiwi motorists, not just Star Insure customers.
The app equips drivers with a clear, step-by-step guide on exactly what to do and check following an accident.
Called Star Insure Accident App, it also features a built-in capture tool, allowing drivers to easily record third-party details, snap scene photos, and log essential data before leaving the roadside.
Star Insurance supports the Street Smart driving assistance.
Star Insure Chief Executive Officer, Roger Wallace, says the app was built to give drivers immediate peace of mind.
“When you have just been in a ding or a serious collision, your adrenaline is pumping. Remembering what details to swap or what photos to take is tough,” he said.
“This app brings calm and clarity to the chaos, ensuring you capture exactly what you need to make the claims process completely hassle-free.”
The app launch goes hand-in-hand with Star Insure’s ongoing commitment to making New Zealand roads safer, highlighted by their active involvement with the Street Smart initiative.
Star Insure General Manager Marketing & Communications, Gabrielle Byfield, notes that true protection requires a proactive, community-wide approach.
The Star Insurance Accident Toolkit is free to download.

Star Insure is encouraging all motorists, especially young and newly licensed drivers, to download the free app to keep in their digital glovebox. It is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
