Jeep NZ adds Wrangler Rubicon to line-up

Jeep New Zealand has added a Rubicon model its all-new Wrangler line-up with, joining the Overland that was launched late last year.

The refined Wrangler Overland 2.0L starts at $84,990 while the new Wrangler Rubicon  2.0L, the undisputed king of off-road performance, begins at $104,990.

“The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has always been a symbol of freedom and adventure,” says Sarah  Williams, Head of Marketing for Jeep NZ. 

“As the icon of the Jeep brand, it embodies the ‘go anywhere,  do anything’ ethos. Now, with the new 2.0L powertrain, we’re giving Kiwis even more ways to conquer  off-road trails from mountain passes to coastal adventures.”  

The Wrangler line-up has a 2-litre engine.

The Wrangler line-up sees the 2-litre engine delivering 200 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque, this engine offers a maintained torque at lower RPM and increased fuel efficiency, says Jeep.

Iconic for its off-road ability, the new Wrangler includes has trail rated capability, including Dana solid axles, a 2-speed transfer case, four skid plates, and the Rock-Trac® 4x4 System on the Rubicon model with a 4:1 low gear ratio and 77.2:1 crawl ratio. 

It also has the next-generation HD Dana 44 Full-Float Rear Axle that allows for better weight distribution and supports aftermarket tyre upgrades with ease.  The TrailCam Off-Road Camera eliminates blind spots while navigating challenging terrain. 

The Rock-Trac® 4x4 System is engineered for real-world use; these systems provide adaptive power distribution and extreme low-speed control over tough terrain.

The Rubicon has next-generation HD Dana 44 Full-Float Rear Axle.
