Chinese brand XPeng has just announced that its dealerships in New Zealand have officially opened and have launched its first model, the G6 Ultra Smart Coupé SUV.

Building on its long-term vision for smart AI mobility, the opening of these initial dealerships marks the beginning of Xpeng’s physical footprint in Aotearoa.

The first two locations, XPeng Auckland North Shore and XPeng Christchurch, provide full sales, service, and test-drive facilities. These openings mark the beginning of a nationwide rollout strategy, ensuring customers can access the brand’s next-generation EV technology from day one of its local presence.

Damian Royce, Head of Marketing for XPeng New Zealand, says the January openings mark a defining moment for the brand: “Opening our first dealerships has brought XPeng’s smart AI-driven mobility vision to life for Kiwi drivers. New Zealand has shown strong enthusiasm for innovation and sustainability, and our new dealerships now give customers the opportunity to see, touch, and experience our technology firsthand. It’s been an exciting start to 2026, and just the beginning of our nationwide expansion.”

As XPeng welcomes customers into its first New Zealand dealerships this January, the brand is setting the stage for continued growth throughout the year. Additional locations in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, and Tauranga will follow in 2026, giving more Kiwis access to XPeng’s intelligent EV lineup and the future-focused mobility solutions at the core of its strategy.

XPeng has its headquarters in Guangzhou, China, and the company operates R&D centres in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhaoqing, and Yangzhou, and has established intelligent manufacturing bases in Zhaoqing and Guangzhou.
