Top 5: USA Bestselling vehicles for 2021

We’re getting down to the business end of the year and brands globally will be focussing on the most important factor; sales.

Car and Driver website has noted the top 25 bestselling vehicles in the USA to October this year, and y’all probably won’t be surprised by the top three. Let’s just say they are big, very big!

Here are the top five from Car and Driver.

5: Honda CR-V (290,140 units sold)

The CR-V is Honda's bread and butter, and its sales are up 22 percent over this time last year, with a hybrid model joining the lineup recently.

4. Toyota RAV4 (313,447 units sold)

Ever since it achieved the title of best-selling non-truck in the country, the RAV4 has been extending its lead over its compact-crossover rivals. Sales were up 4 percent through the first three quarters.

3. Chevrolet Silverado (407,266 units sold)

Results for the Silverado were a mixed bag in the first three quarters of 2021. It was outsold by the Ram truck lineup, and sales of the light-duty model were down nearly 5 percent.

2. Ram Pickup (434,772 units sold)

Ram's truck lineup continues its ascent with a strong first three quarters that saw sales rise 8 percent. That was enough to beat the Silverado, which typically occupies the second-place sales ranking.

1. Ford F-Series (534,831 units sold)

Ford's ever-popular pickup truck lineup entered 2021 with a refreshed F-150 lineup that now includes a hybrid and an updated Super Duty model. Ford, and the F-150 in particular, has been hit hard by the global microchip shortage and sales fell 9 percent through the first three quarters.
