Volkswagen New Zealand has announced information on the refreshed Tiguan Allspace that is the brand's only seven-seater SUV.

It offers more space, versatility, and towing capacity (AWD variants only) than its smaller sibling, the Tiguan fiver seater.  The Allspace starts with the two-wheel-drive TSI LIfe priced from $49,990 and arriving in New Zealand next month. The TSI Style with 4Motion ($62,990) and the R-Line 4Motion ($72,990) are set to land here in quarter two next year.

Greg Leet, General  Manager of Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles says that the “Tiguan is undoubtedly a core model for the brand, and the new Allspace only enhances that reputation further”.

“As the only 7-seater vehicle across our passenger range, it comes with a lot of responsibility to ensure it meets our customers’ wide-ranging expectations. Fortunately,  its appeal is as universal, as our customer’s lifestyles are varied,” says Leet.

The VW Tiguan Allspace now offers the customisable 10.25” Active Info Display.

The Tiguan Allspace offers all the flexibility of a class-leading SUV.  The versatility of its luggage capacity alone is astonishing. With the vehicle in two-seat configuration there is 1775L available, 700L when in five-seat, and 230L when all seven seats are in use.

Both the 1.4L and 2.0L TSI engines across the range are equipped with the latest direct fuel injection and turbocharging technology.  It is this technology that makes a compact powertrain powerful and efficient — resulting in the ability to travel longer distances with less fuel, and while still delivering maximum torque from much lower revs.

To further improve on an already solid performing platform, extra premium touches have been added to further enhance the driving experience.

The VW Tiguan Allspace is the only seven-seater for the brand.

The new Tiguan Allspace range will now push the bar higher with its new LED headlights and IQ. The Allspace will also feature numerous advanced driver assistance systems as standard, which had previously only been available in higher vehicle categories.

The list grows with the addition of Volkswagen’s latest safety feature, Travel Assist. Especially on the motorway and on well-maintained roads, Travel Assist can keep you in your lane and maintain speed while monitoring the distance from the traffic in front.

The VW Tiguan Allspace has a the 1.4L or 2.0L TSI engine.

Together with the vehicle’s outstanding crash characteristics and exemplary occupant protection, the systems boost safety, reduce the risk of a collision, and improve driving comfort.

And offered for the first time as a standardised feature is the customisable 10.25” Active Info Display, providing all the info you need at glance. Intuitive controls, an updated infotainment system and a touch-based climate control panel sit alongside Volkswagen’s latest multi-function steering wheel design for the complete sporty and hi spec/hi-tech experience.

More details will be released on the Tiguan Allspace closer to the launch date.
