Jaguar’s top-level electric SUV known as the J-Pace, to compete against the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS (and possibly the Audi Q9), continues under development.

Jaguar Land Rover aims to ultimately become a fully electric car company. The J-Pace will be electric-only, like the XJ sedan, and will be built on the same platform.

The J-Pace will take styling cues from the I-Pace but will look more like the F-Pace. It aims to use batteries up to 100kWh and will have a range of close to 500km.

The fully electric SUV category is starting to develop with the Audi E-Tron, I-Pace, BMW iX3 and Mercedes EQC. The J-Pace will be larger than these vehicles and will start to define a new larger electric vehicle SUV category that will fill out quick in the years to come.
