Jaguar Land Rover has just announced two new executive appointments, including a new director of customer satisfaction, but forget to mention that it has a new design director.

Instead, news that Land Rover had promoted Massimo Frascella to the position of design director was revealed via his social media posts, including an updated Linkedin profile. Oops.

Frascella takes over the position from Gerry McGovern, who moves to a new position of chief creative officer for Jaguar Land Rover.

Frascella became Land Rover's design director in October, according to his Linkedin profile. Previously he was creative director at the brand.

The Italian executive joined Land Rover in 2011 from Kia.

McGovern was appointed to lead Land Rover design in 2006 and has revitalised the brand with models such as the best-selling Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, says Europe Auto News. His latest model to be launched is the revival of the Defender off-roader.

The two new executive appointments that were announced are Nigel Blenkinsop as Executive Director, Company Quality & Customer Satisfaction; and Nick Collins appointed Executive Director, Vehicle Programmes
