BMW New Zealand has announced the prices and equipment specifications for the all-new 4 Series coupe that will be available from October.

The new model will be available in two trim levels: a sporty and value-added 420i priced from $81,900, and a high-performance M440i xDrive from $129,900.

The all-new 4 Series coupe possesses an even more individual identity and features clearer differentiation from its 3 Series sibling.

Two engines are available at launch: a 135kW 2-litre TwinPower Turbo in-line four-cylinder in the 420i, and a 275kW TwinPower Turbo in-line six in the M440i xDrive.

Both engines are mated to 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmissions that feature closer gear ratio calibration; in M440i xDrive guise, the 0-100km/h sprint is completed in just 4.5 seconds.

Compared to its predecessor, the new car receives unique styling, headlined by vertically-emphasised kidney grilles that boldly evoke BMW sporting icons of yore. M styling packages are offered as standard equipment throughout the range in New Zealand.

The new car also sports larger dimensions, as well as improved performance and efficiency.

Compared to the current G20 3 Series sedan, the sportier 4 Series coupe packs additional chassis stiffening elements, a bespoke steering and suspension geometry setup, sits 57mm lower, has a 23mm wider rear track which results in a 21mm overall drop in centre of gravity for even sharper driving characteristics.

Inside, the all-new 4 Series coupe is feature-packed with latest BMW technology. A 12.3in digital instrument cluster is standard across all models, along with a 10.25in control display operating with BMW’s latest iDrive 7.0 software.

Standard sports seats, a palette of luxurious upholsteries, trims and materials as well as clean, clear controls feature throughout the range.
